Teaching Philosophy

About me

Hi, I’m Felipe — the person behind Pupi Spanish.

For me, learning Spanish is not just about grammar or vocabulary. It’s about connecting with people, cultures, and real-life experiences.

My goal is to help you speak Spanish confidently in everyday situations—whether you're talking with family, ordering your favorite dish at a restaurant, making new friends, or exploring Spanish-speaking cultures.

Every class is practical, dynamic, and tailored to your goals. Instead of following a rigid learning schedule, I adapt each lesson to what you truly need—conversation, fluency, confidence, or preparation for real-life situations.

I hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Education from Universidad Pontificia Bolivariana, and I combine my teaching background with relaxed, engaging lessons so you can learn Spanish without pressure and with real progress.

My goal is simple: to help you not only learn Spanish, but feel comfortable using it naturally.

In-Person Classes

If you’re in Medellín, we can take learning beyond the classroom.

We can meet at cafés, museums, parks, or restaurants and practice Spanish in real-life situations with locals. These immersive lessons help you build confidence, hear different accents, and use Spanish the way people actually speak it.

Whether you want to order food, ask for directions, or explore the city, I’ll help you turn everyday moments into learning experiences.

My background

I come from a small town nestled in the mountains of Colombia, where I grew up working on coffee farms with my family. I didn’t have a need to have a university degree and learn more than just Spanish, but I was always a curious, sociable person, eager to explore the world outside of my small town.

My passion for languages began early, and it’s through going to school at Universidad Pontificia Bolivariana to become a teacher that I discovered the power of connection. Now, using my Bachelors of Spanish and English, I’m proud to teach both languages, helping others unlock new opportunities and experiences through language.

Continuing my journey

Life hasn’t always been easy, but I’ve learned that with determination and hard work, you can overcome any challenge. No matter what obstacles I’ve faced, I’ve always pushed forward with optimism, knowing that anything is possible when you set your mind to it.

These days, I’m continuing to learn English and added German to the mix. I also intend to earn another Masters degree, hopefully in Europe this upcoming year.

I believe that learning is not just about rules and facts—it’s about perseverance, and personal growth. It’s about embracing the journey, making mistakes, laughing, and celebrating progress.

I’m here to help you discover that same sense of accomplishment and freedom that learning a language has brought me.
